The Dream’s Used to Be…AKA How Women Kill Good Relationships Every Day Through Sheer Laziness

As I was trolling through Necole Bitchie’s site, I came across The Dream’s new track “Used to Be”, where he reflects on his failed marriage with Christian Milian—BBM sad face.  Prior to hearing this song, I had my mind made up about The Dream and the kind of spouse I thought he would be.  I thought he was arrogant, selfish and unsupportive (granted, I don’t know him, but I can definitely run with a tabloid story and make it his entire life story).  I was Team Christina all day.

My stay at The National Hotel—huge womps

I recently went to Miami with a few girlfriends.  It was a TIME to say the least.  We partied, we ate, we were accosted and made lifelong memories.  This was my second foray into South Beach madness and I loved almost every bit of it!  The only thing I could have done without, was the blatant racism and discrimination we experienced at our hotel.

This extended weekend getaway was the result of months of painstaking planning, disagreements and sideeyes.  The hardest part of the planning was picking the hotel.  We diligently did our research; read reviews and scoured discount sites.  In the end, we decided on The National.  It was a four star hotel and thanks to a glitch on their web site, we got a pretty good deal, or so we thought.

When we checked in to our non-renovated room (these are all the rage in Miami, many of the hotels are going through extensive renovations and sometimes to save more, you get less…room amenities that is).  We knew that our room was essentially the stepchild of the fabulous four-star hotel, but we were also assured that it was still in pretty good shape.  That was a lie.  The room smelled like…MOLD.  I actually can’t get down with a moldy room, especially not one I’m shelling out $250 for.  I don’t know many people that would.
